Choosing a hydrangea for the soul
To make it easier for an amateur or professional gardener to choose a flower from a large assortment of varieties, you should pay attention to the main types, among which the following varieties of hydrangea stand out:
- Treelike. A frost-resistant, beautiful and unpretentious flower, with large leaves and spherical inflorescences, retaining its beauty from July to the end of autumn, and at the end of summer it acquires a green tint.
- Paniculata. The flower is also frost-resistant, and got its name due to the special shape of the inflorescences. Numerous varieties of this type of hydrangea are distinguished by the size of the flowers, aroma and other features.
- large-leaved. A delicate and needy flower, the name of which speaks for itself. Large sterile flowers of bright pink and lilac-pink color will be appreciated by true lovers of tenderness and beauty.
- Chereshkovaya. The shoots of such a hydrangea creep along the ground, and if you direct them to vertical surfaces or structures, then with the help of a plant you can create original dark green fences for your site.
- Bretschneider. An original shrub that can impress any connoisseur of flora with greenish-white inflorescences, which later acquire a pinkish tint. Does not require a special type of soil or constant watering.
- Sargent. Straight shoots, the length of which reaches 1.2 m, with oblong greenish leaves, give purple-lilac flowers in July. To save the plant in winter frosts, it is enough to perform high-quality and professional mulching.
- Radiant. Serrated edges of dark green leaves and white inflorescences up to 3 cm in diameter are the hallmarks of a plant that can freeze slightly during severe frosts, but quickly recovers in spring and blooms luxuriantly.
- Ashy. The bush has great strength, growing up to 1.8 m tall, and semicircular leaves with serrated edges and 17 cm inflorescences are especially pleasing to the eye from mid-July until the very end of summer.
- Rough. One of the most beautiful types of hydrangea, the inflorescences of which reach a diameter of 25 cm, and the shrub itself can have a height of up to 3-4 m. The main shades of the inflorescences of this species are flowers of white, pink and bluish hue. The plant needs careful protection of the root system during the winter period in order to bloom again in the spring and delight the gardener with beautiful flowers.
Due to its diversity, hydrangea will delight flower lovers throughout the summer, with a variety of shades and shapes of inflorescences.
